TULSA LITTLE LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENTS

This week are the end of season tournaments for BIG8, BIG9, BIG11 and BIG12.  Come on out and watch these tournaments as the players skills are sharpened and ready to compete!  The younger divisions coaches and players can get a good look at the machine pitch and player pitch leagues and look forward to these big league seasons.

BIG8 ALL STAR CHAMPIONS!

PITCH, HIT, RUN, THROW CONTEST WAS REALLY FUN!

A couple hundred players from Coach Pitch to BIG11 competed for trophies in 4 events.   They all raced around the bases to determine the fastest baserunner in the league.  A pitching contest for strikes determined the best pitchers.  A long throw contest from center field resulted in the players with a strong and accurate arm to win.  Finally, the Home Run Derby blasted the long ball for some tape measure hits.   The competition was fun and a great display of our Little League player skills.  Congratulations to all the players.

Take a Shot at the Little League World Series and Play on TV!

 

Each year, Tulsa Little League All Star teams qualify for the state tournament which leads to regional and with success ultimately to the Little League World Series championship tournament.  For the Tulsa area, Tulsa Little League offers the sole opportunity to advance 2 teams into this championship tournament. The World Series will be played Aug. 20-29, 2010. All of the games will be played at the Little League International complex in Williamsport, PA. This nationally televised event is not just a dream, it's possible by playing baseball with Tulsa Little League.

FIELD STATUS AND GAME STATUS UPDATES

Our fields are owned and managed by Tulsa County at LaFortune Park.  Tulsa County makes the playability decision of the fields and can let us know at anytime up to 3PM of any decision they have to close the fields.  After 3PM, Tulsa Little League decides on the fields and any impact to game delay or cancellations.  On days where the fields are suspect, expect an update at 3PM.  The update will be made to our web site "FIELD STATUS" and we will tweet a message. For the most timeliest updates, follow TulsaLL on twitter.  Expect that only a partial field closing could occur or that games could be delayed instead of cancelled.  Sometimes all fields are closed.
